Busy day...week...life!

So, I love having house guests, and am flattered that people are comfortable staying with us...but I'm beggining to wonder why we couldn't pay people to come and see us in Phoenix, but we see friends and fam atleast once a month here? Is it because Spenc just sweat more in AZ or something? This is just one of my theories.
Anyway, Spencer was gone in beautiful, exotic Pocatello for a few days over the weekend, and returned with my aunt and uncle who were able to stay for a few days. My dad has also been hanging out getting hugs from the kiddos, and pretending to work on his house in between times.
Today was a busy day, but so much fun! Trin had her preschool graduation, and it is now what the papers are calling the social even of the season! She thought she was super cool in her cap and gown. Her class of five was the smallest at the school, so each of the kids was able to do more in their little 30 minute ceremony. Triniti read aloud a 1st grade level Hello Kitty book, and sang the "Five Jive" all by herself. I was nervous that she would be shy doing the song because she refused to practice it at home, but she did fantastic! I must admit, though, the highlight performance came from my very loud son that insisted on asking for "nonuts, pease" every thirty seconds of the entire presentation. He had overheard earlier this morning that there would be donuts and juice, and is not one to soon forget about anything jelly filled.

Just taking some time...

The kiddos are in bed, the laundry is mid-cycle, and game five of the Laker game is only half way through the first quarter (no need to get worked up yet), so I wanted to take a few minutes to just be grateful. For those of you disappointed at finding several paragraphs of text and no pictures, I have to apologize. The obvious disconnect has been the fact that the camera is inside the house, and the charger is in my husband's car...an inconceivable distance away in the garage. I promise I'll get to it!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day, though, and more for my own benefit I wanted to reflect on some of my many small and simple blessings. My latest joy has been to listen to Mac counting. He loves to count anything and everything, and when this is done in his little version of toddlerese, it's totally cute! He does 1-10 just perfectly, and then adds a twelve, thirteen, seventeen, and twenty in for good measure. My favorite is when he's counting snacks (whether it be raisins, goldfish, or the like) and he gets to ten, he'll sometimes call out "ready or not here I come!" Meals are never boring in my house! I also love the "good morning mommy, good morning sunshine" greetings in the mornings, and the random "I lub you mommy" accompanied by the sweetest little boy hugs you've ever seen! I adore both my children, but I totally have a crush on my little man. (Big news!!! Mac spent his first night with his crib converted into a toddler bed and didn't get out once! He loves his big boy bed!)

Trin never ceases to amaze me. Her new favorite phrase is "I suppose." Tonight she "supposed" that she would try a mozzarella stick as long as it didn't have any sauce. We've had some listening issues the past couple of days, but she has such a sweet, tender little heart. She is the most thoughtful little girl I know. She's constantly coming up with ideas that she thinks Mac would love, saving part of her school treat for him on the ride home, drawing me pictures, or even asking to help around the house.

I wouldn't have either of these amazing little people without my sweet husband. I love to watch him with our kiddos. They adore him, and there aren't many dads out there that would risk life and limb to take his kids to Chuck E Cheese's for the sake of having a fun family night out.

I've really been struggling the last couple of weeks because I've been really tired and there are a lot of days that I feel like I've cheated my family in some capacity...whether it's feeling like I didn't have the kids out and active, or didn't cook what I had planned. I'm sure these sound like really petty things, but because I love them all so much, I have trouble coming to terms with shortcomings because they deserve the best! Wow, I'm hormonal! In short, I just hope that I show and remind them enough just how much I love and adore them.

Blah...I gotta get some pics taken so I have something else to fill my blog space!

Call me what you will...the blinds are clean!

I make no apologies for the severe lack of posting the past month. I feel a little badly, if only for myself, though. I have spent the last several weeks trying to unearth my new home from underneath the layer of dust that accumulated here over the past year of not being lived in. I am proud to say, though, that all of the blinds and shutters have been dusted and polished, the tile hand-scrubbed, kitchen bleached...the standard o.c.d. stuff that I will NEVER again do without paying someone to help me. This in and of itself is a colossal milestone because I once was of the opinion that if I didn't do it myself, I wouldn't be happy with it. However, trying to do all of the detail work 6 1/2 months prego with two kiddos has made me realize that I have limitations! Hmmmm...

To recap on more interesting stuff than Windex, though, there has been much to write home about! One of the biggest things, I think, is that Trin discovered that she LOVES salad! It was never so much a taste thing as it was a texture thing (i.e. puking over stuck lettuce in Sweet Tomatoes). The other night, though, she had 4 helpings. I'm totally excited! She's also almost done with school and looking forward to swimming, cousins, gymnastics, and a little sister.

Mac is a crazy, crazy little boy. His newest things is "hey, mom, watch this!" He is such a talker now, although I'm not shocked because his older sister NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER stops talking! He also loves his new room. It's huge, so there has been plenty of room to leave his new Geo Trax train set up. I'm not sure if it's the remote control engine or the fact that I let him leave toys out that's more fun.

I have been threatened within an inch of my life if I don't start posting some new pics, especially of the house, but truth be known I only just this weekend found my camera and charger...so lay off! They're coming!

I also was tagged a few weeks ago, and am totally self-justified in more ways than one that I finally got the invite!!! So, here is some random, but totally informative mumbo jumbo about yours truly...

A: Attached or Single- Attached... Married for 7 years!
B: Best Friend- My hubbie Spenc. That was easy, but I am blessed to have a very select handful of lifetime friends that I could never see enough of!
C: Cake or Pie- Cake. Cheesecake. Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. 'Nuf said.
D: Day of Choice- Saturday
E: Essential Items- Shea Body Butter from The Body Shoppe, hand sanitizer AND stickers for the diaper bag, a bag of chocolate chips in the fridge at all times, and tweezers. These wouldn't have necessarily made the list a month ago, but I spent several days without them during the move. Yikes.
F: Favorite Color- Blue, all shades...but because it makes me happy, not because that's my state of mind.
G: Gummy Bears or Worms- Gummy Bears, but never again purchased from the candy shoppe on Main Street at Disneyland. I had three bags of assorted Goofy goodies that kept me awake the entire drive home by myself with the two kiddos. Blah.
H: Hometown- Fine...I'll just admit it. Canyonville, OR. Are you happy now?
I: Favorite Indulgence- Ghiradelli brownies, and sometimes a burger from In-N-Out (but only because the BABY needs one!)
J: January or July- July! It's summertime. I most likely have a tan. And there's fireworks! What's not to like?
K: Kids- Triniti who is 4, Mac who is almost 2, and the little girl on the way! They all amaze me daily, even the smallest of the group. What miracles!
L: Life is not complete without... My family and friends, my spirituality, and a good road trip every now and then.
M: Marriage Date- February 17, 2001
N: Number of Brothers and Sisters- 2 younger brothers, although if you've seen Josh I'm not entirely sure he's REALLY related to me!
O: Oranges or apples- Oranges...especially when there's also a picnic involved
P: Phobia or Fears- These are TOTALLY different. I'm phobic about messes and things that have small seeds (it grosses me out). I'm terrified of something tragic happening to one of my children.

R: Reasons to smile- I got knobs and pulls for the cupboards in my house today. We haven't had any for a month! Now I can figure out what I put in my bottom bathroom drawer 3 weeks ago! Also, I get to spend a week in Phoenix next month. Shopping, sun, friends...aaaahhhhh
S: Superman or wonder woman- Superman. It makes me too sad to think about the Wonder Woman costume that I wanted for Halloween once upon a time that I never got to wear.

V: Vegetable- Homegrown, juicy summer tomatoes. I wish I could say my own tomatoes, but I have yet to grow any myself.
W: Worst Habit- I share this one with Melissa. I DETEST having to put laundry away! I'm okay with the stinky sorting, and even the folding. But for some reason, that's where I stop. You would think that the nicely folded piles in the basket wouldn't be the most unpleasant part of the process, but I swear it is!
X: X-ray or ultrasound- Ultrasound! For me that's always meant a new baby!
Y: Your favorite food- Kneader's cream of broccoli soup.
