My house is freshly cleaned, my laundry baskets are near empty, and all three of my children are sleeping. How's your Thursday?

Little Dude Day...did you get the day off?

For as much as Mac thoroughly enjoyed himself this past Saturday, I think I'm going to have to declare it National Dude Day. Trin was able to spend the weekend at her Aunt Sara's and Uncle Nate's house, basking in the shadow of her cousin Grace, whom whe absolutely idolizes.  Among the many reasons for this adoration, I was informed yesterday that only Grace knows how make really big paper snowflakes with hearts in them. That settles that, then.

Back to Mac and our national holiday, though. We let him pick where he wanted to spend the day, and he chose to go to Thanksgiving Point Barn. After a morning of playing in the basement rolling around on my exercise ball with his dad (the most wickedly awesome game in the WHOLE house, by the way), we headed down. It was so much fun to have just a tiny break from the perpetual Trin commentary to simply listen to what my little man had to say. I think he enjoyed having our undivided attention, as he assumed the role of chatter box. I think the big winners for the day were petting the cows and riding the ponies. Addi got to cruise around sitting up in the stroller instead of strapped into her car seat, so she was content to suck on her jacket and enjoy the scenery.
While I stayed with Addi so she could nap, the boys hit the park and then came home with Kneaders for dinner. It was a good day, and I know Trin didn't miss us one bit!

I won...so here's another one!

Oh my holy gosh! Wow...only got a few hours sleep last night, so I'm not sure where that expletive came from, but it's better than "oh my heck" right? Anyway, I won a super cute scrabble pendant from that last giveaway and came across this one, too.  Aaahhh, my dreams of domestic perfection are grand, indeed.

I came across these super cool giveaways. Hurry! You can still enter! I VERY rarely win anything, but won something through another blog several months ago, and thought I'd give it a shot!

Why yes, yes it is.

I'm not entirely sure why, but every now and then my computer refuses so save my editing changes when I switch the orientation of my pictures. So, for half of these it might be helpful to lie down on the floor to view. I'm sure you'll get the point, however. We've not been up to anything particularly exciting, or at least out of the norm. Every day is exciting at the Clawson residence. I thought I'd post a few of the highlights, though.

I pride myself on being "in the know" when it comes to super cool kid events and goings on around where I live (i.e. all the free days at surrounding museums, craft days at the park, etc.) and today I hit the motherload! One of our SLC libraries was having a county contributing book sale. Is this the stack of 25 children's books that I scored for $6.85 including tax? Why yes, yes it is!
Is this the little girl that is lying on the couch at 9:00 p.m., WAY past her bed time, scared to death to sleep in her own bed after stumbling upon a book at said book sale with a disturbingly creepy picture of a preserved body from the Ice Age on the cover? Why yes, yes it is! (That stupid book was in the kids' section, too!)

Is this the cutest naked baby you've ever seen? Don't act like you even have a rebuttal. Why yes, yes it is! It's also the same baby that just pounded two bowls of cereal.
Is this sweet little face that of a little boy, albeit however reasonable he usually is, that just decided to see if he could lodge a raisin in the deepest abscess of his brain via his nasal canal? Why yes, yes it is! I was in the family room, and I heard this sweet little voice tell me, "Mom, I think I need some help." He really only stared to panic when I told him I was going to put a toothpick up his nose, but I didn't have a pair of tweezers skinny enough. It worked like a charm, though. I just pinched off the bridge and delicately pierced the offending fruit. Voila! This is also the little boy that found me the other day and told me he was "terribly hungry." It was just pathetic.

And just for good measure, the littlest stink again.

Have you seen this?

I came across this blog today. It totally cracks me up...and it's totally true! Especially when these "types" are scattered about where we happen to live, work, and play. Kid you not, on my way down the mountain this woman pulled out of her community at 7:45 in the morning, hair totally done and one of those ever so trendy Juicy sweat pants and hoodie combo (not that I don't think they're adorable, I'm just not opposed to dropping Trin off at school in my pj's and morning breath sometimes), driving her Porsche Cayenne, and her nose freshly bandaged from what could have been nothing other than a very recent rhino-jobby. Guaranteed she had a mole-skin notebook hanging out of her bedangled handbag. Don't mind me. I'm just bitter. And STILL in my pj's and morning breath. I've been productive, though. Promise.

Oh yeah...and I'm up a little and now at X-6, but I would like to think that it's because the junk in my trunk is now transforming from, well, just that into solid steel and now weighs just a titch more. Please feel free to leave comments acknowledging your concession.
