Are ya kidding me?

This was the view FROM my front porch on Saturday afternoon. We knew it was coming, I was somewhat prepared to have to wear closed-toe something or other to church on Sunday, and really there is something magical and exciting about the first snow...especially living up here on the mountain.

...but are you kidding me? This was the view OF my front porch on Sunday morning. It's the middle of October! The kids think it's totally cool, but if they ask me one more time to go out and build a snow man before I have the chance to unearth all of our snow gear, I'm going to lose it! Especially when I have to live with the stomach-turning mental images of all my Phoenix and Cali friends driving around with their windows down. Blah.

Chilly outside means nice and warm inside, though. Friday nights are designated movie nights for the kiddos. I love our huge loft, and this past Friday Spenc was so proud of his set-up. He hung Trin's princess veil and Mac hulled up in a super cool "tent bed." They got to stay up late, eat popcorn, and watch Nemo.

I went downstairs and did this...yeah for Friday nights!

This and that...

I figured that before the snow falls on my roof as is expected this Saturday (sigh) I should post all of the great pics of our sunny day activities. It's amazing the utter lack of energy or committment to eat anything good for me at the end of the day that I have. But without further ado, and in lieu of the frozen cookie dough in my freezer screaming my name, here is a little "catch-me-up!"

Although Trin is now playing t-ball, she played soccer earlier this season. She only made one goal, but hey...there's a lot to be said for being able to make prancing look good out on the field. We've also been trying to soak up every last ray of warmth we can, so we spend a lot of time picnicing at the park. Miss Addi loves to be outside!

On a much needed "us only" outing, we took the kiddos for a ride on TRAX up to Temple Square... very exciting! Mac is obsessed with trains, and every time we stopped, he found it necessary to yell "all aboard" at the very top of his little boy lungs. All I'm saying is that it's a good thing he's cute. The kids love spending time on the temple grounds and at the visitors' center. They're kind of vererans, but it's fun every time. The sweet rush of emotion watching Trin at the feet of the Christus statue never gets old for me...it doesn't seem to for her, either.

Um, oh yeah! My house almost burned down. This was one of the pics that I snapped from my neighbor's side yard. We (apparently) were never in any real danger, but from this vantage point, I was definitely catalouging a mental list of items to be thrown in the car first.
Trin is in pre-k, although I sware the kiddo has the smarts and attitude to breeze through second grade. She loves her teacher, I love the pick up/drop off system that doesn't even require me to get out of the car, and Mac loves the alone time he gets with me. They've already had their first field trip to the zoo, and this Friday we're going to the Sandy fire department as the end cap to their fire safety week.

Mac is such a little man. The pic of him in the bucket with Uncle Jesse's iPhone totally cracks me up. Jess put some games on it that Mac can load and play himself. I'm not getting the dude a phone for Christmas, but one of those cool Leap Frog game systems might have to be on the list.

Addison is growing so fast. I didn't know what to do with my teenie little 6lb 5 oz baby girl, but now that el chubbo has capped out at over 10 lb 8 oz, I'm getting a little more comfortable! She loves her own bed, watching Mac do anything, and me. Dad...she's not of fond of. Hopefully this phase will be short lived!

Yikes! When did I get old enough to have kids this big?

Three's company

Life as I know it will never be the same, and if I ever again manage to shower before noon, it will be a miracle, but I have to admit... three kiddos is somehow much less mind boggling than two was. I'm not sure if it was the idea that I was doubling my quota when I had Mac, or that he was a boy, but I FREAKED OUT!
