Call me what you will...the blinds are clean!

I make no apologies for the severe lack of posting the past month. I feel a little badly, if only for myself, though. I have spent the last several weeks trying to unearth my new home from underneath the layer of dust that accumulated here over the past year of not being lived in. I am proud to say, though, that all of the blinds and shutters have been dusted and polished, the tile hand-scrubbed, kitchen bleached...the standard o.c.d. stuff that I will NEVER again do without paying someone to help me. This in and of itself is a colossal milestone because I once was of the opinion that if I didn't do it myself, I wouldn't be happy with it. However, trying to do all of the detail work 6 1/2 months prego with two kiddos has made me realize that I have limitations! Hmmmm...

To recap on more interesting stuff than Windex, though, there has been much to write home about! One of the biggest things, I think, is that Trin discovered that she LOVES salad! It was never so much a taste thing as it was a texture thing (i.e. puking over stuck lettuce in Sweet Tomatoes). The other night, though, she had 4 helpings. I'm totally excited! She's also almost done with school and looking forward to swimming, cousins, gymnastics, and a little sister.

Mac is a crazy, crazy little boy. His newest things is "hey, mom, watch this!" He is such a talker now, although I'm not shocked because his older sister NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER stops talking! He also loves his new room. It's huge, so there has been plenty of room to leave his new Geo Trax train set up. I'm not sure if it's the remote control engine or the fact that I let him leave toys out that's more fun.

I have been threatened within an inch of my life if I don't start posting some new pics, especially of the house, but truth be known I only just this weekend found my camera and charger...so lay off! They're coming!

I also was tagged a few weeks ago, and am totally self-justified in more ways than one that I finally got the invite!!! So, here is some random, but totally informative mumbo jumbo about yours truly...

A: Attached or Single- Attached... Married for 7 years!
B: Best Friend- My hubbie Spenc. That was easy, but I am blessed to have a very select handful of lifetime friends that I could never see enough of!
C: Cake or Pie- Cake. Cheesecake. Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. 'Nuf said.
D: Day of Choice- Saturday
E: Essential Items- Shea Body Butter from The Body Shoppe, hand sanitizer AND stickers for the diaper bag, a bag of chocolate chips in the fridge at all times, and tweezers. These wouldn't have necessarily made the list a month ago, but I spent several days without them during the move. Yikes.
F: Favorite Color- Blue, all shades...but because it makes me happy, not because that's my state of mind.
G: Gummy Bears or Worms- Gummy Bears, but never again purchased from the candy shoppe on Main Street at Disneyland. I had three bags of assorted Goofy goodies that kept me awake the entire drive home by myself with the two kiddos. Blah.
H: Hometown- Fine...I'll just admit it. Canyonville, OR. Are you happy now?
I: Favorite Indulgence- Ghiradelli brownies, and sometimes a burger from In-N-Out (but only because the BABY needs one!)
J: January or July- July! It's summertime. I most likely have a tan. And there's fireworks! What's not to like?
K: Kids- Triniti who is 4, Mac who is almost 2, and the little girl on the way! They all amaze me daily, even the smallest of the group. What miracles!
L: Life is not complete without... My family and friends, my spirituality, and a good road trip every now and then.
M: Marriage Date- February 17, 2001
N: Number of Brothers and Sisters- 2 younger brothers, although if you've seen Josh I'm not entirely sure he's REALLY related to me!
O: Oranges or apples- Oranges...especially when there's also a picnic involved
P: Phobia or Fears- These are TOTALLY different. I'm phobic about messes and things that have small seeds (it grosses me out). I'm terrified of something tragic happening to one of my children.
Q: Quote- "...And I was led by the spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do." That Nephi was a smart guy. I wish I could make all of my decisions with faith in that kind of guidance.
R: Reasons to smile- I got knobs and pulls for the cupboards in my house today. We haven't had any for a month! Now I can figure out what I put in my bottom bathroom drawer 3 weeks ago! Also, I get to spend a week in Phoenix next month. Shopping, sun, friends...aaaahhhhh
S: Superman or wonder woman- Superman. It makes me too sad to think about the Wonder Woman costume that I wanted for Halloween once upon a time that I never got to wear.

U: Unknown Fact about me- I usually use the standard "I used to play and currently own an accordion." I'm PROUD of who I am, darn it! But since most of you know that, I'll go with the fact that I have stretch marks on my boobs right now. Sorry. I'm just an open book!
V: Vegetable- Homegrown, juicy summer tomatoes. I wish I could say my own tomatoes, but I have yet to grow any myself.
W: Worst Habit- I share this one with Melissa. I DETEST having to put laundry away! I'm okay with the stinky sorting, and even the folding. But for some reason, that's where I stop. You would think that the nicely folded piles in the basket wouldn't be the most unpleasant part of the process, but I swear it is!
X: X-ray or ultrasound- Ultrasound! For me that's always meant a new baby!
Y: Your favorite food- Kneader's cream of broccoli soup.
Z: Zodiac Sign- Leo

Wow! What a weekend. I'm happy to report that we had a fantastic holiday weekend, despite my apprehension to host a big Easter dinner in my current house. No...we still haven't closed. Fingers crossed it will happen Wednesday! I had myself in a panic how I was going to fit everyone in here, and just knew it was going to be the end of the world that all of my great china hasn't been unpacked. It's amazing the little things that I let keep me up at night. I should not have been surprised that despite eating on paper plates, having all of my family around me was all that mattered!

The kids were soooooo excited to find their baskets full of goodies, despite that nasty little look Trin was sporting for the camera. Her treats consisted of Hannah Montana and princess stuff, and Mac's were ALL Cars stuff. Par for the course!

My parents and grandparents were here from Oregon, my aunt and uncle were back in town from their travels, and my cousin and her family were in from Colorado. Dinner turned out great, and after an egg hunt, Easter turned into an early birthday party for Mac and his cousin Brad.

The weather has been fantastic! Believe it or not, today it was about 60 degrees, and for those of you hoity toity beach goers posting about you 80 degree days in the sand (you know who you are) that might not sound like tropical weather, but it was bliss for us! My mommy and I spent the morning "boutiquing" and then ended up picking up lunch and picnicing with the kids at the park. I'm just sooooooo thankful for the change in weather. It just makes me feel so good, not to mention helping me feel like a better mom. The kids love being outside, and they haven't seen much grass lately.

Crazy days

It's totally obvious what in the world I'm taking a picture of, right? Well, in case you didn't immediately put together that this is a cough drop stuck to my son's head, allow me to help you out. We had all gone to take my father-in-law to the airport, but didn't get out there until 5:30, so between the drive out and traffic back we more than depleted my supply of graham cracker snacks. The only thing left in my bag to tide us over until we picked up dinner was a stash of Halls Breezes. They did the trick, though, because my kids hardly ever get candy, and just assumed that that was what they were eating. Well...it wasn't until we got home that I realized that Mac apparently did not get his entire allotment because one ended up stuck to the top of his head. I can only guess that he somehow tossed it up there, because he kept asking for his "andy" but wasn't able to reach it once it was up there. I'm so proud.

Like I mentioned, though, we had Spencer's dad with us for the past week or so.

This was just a portion of the action that we've seen in the last little while, though. We had a family baptism, a family baby blessing, friends in from Vegas, and more friends from San Luis Obispo. I had soooooooooo much fun seeing my friend Melissa (love you too, Paul). She's got too adorable little girls, and although I wasn't able to hog them to myself the entire week, it was great fun while we got to hang out. We took the kiddos to Discovery (a great kid's museum in SLC) and played ourselves exhausted. There was also some shopping to be done, which makes for a great time any day. I miss them tons and I hope she knows how great a friend I've found in her!

More news from the frontlines...although I wasn't supposed to have my ultrasound until tomorrow, my OB called today and wanted me to come in "right now." Trin was able to go with me, and should just post a video of her telling the news because she loves to share it, but we're having another girl! I'm really excited...Spencer is dealing. I probably shouldn't have pointed out that that's double the prom dresses to buy, and two weddings to pay for. He'll survive. Essentially it's his fault, anyway!

I wish I could also post pics of our new house, but we still haven't closed, so I'm going to be forced to clean this house another week. Woe is me. We've got birthday parties, house guests, and Easter to look forward to, though, so I have plenty to keep my mind off my grotesquely unorganized closets. (Okay, okay...I just need to restack the tupperware, but that description sounded more pathetic!)
